What I learned from Star Wars...

There is a lot that can be learned from a galaxy far far away. A long time ago in this galaxy things were pretty similar to the way things are today. Star Wars happens to not only be the most epic space story of all time, but is also an incredibly insightful series with life lessons to offer if you can make the connections to your personal life.
Here are just a few of the things Star Wars has taught me...

  • You must do what you feel is right.
  • Never underestimate the power of the Dark Side.
  • The probability of succesfully navigating an asteriod field is approximately 3,720 to 1.
  • Never tell someone the odds. Especially Han.
  • Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.
  • Don't give into your anger.
  • Patience... you must have patience.
  • Stormtroopers are bad shots.
  • Let go of your feelings.
  • Never judge a "piece of junk" from the outside. More often than not, "she's got it where it counts."
  • Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
  • You can't escape your destiny.
  • Traveling through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops.
  • Pay off your debts on time, you can't always kill the bill collector.
  • Don't give into your anger.
  • If you do not believe, that is why you fail.
  • Always accept apologies.
  • Faith and belief can be a weakness as well as a strength.
  • Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them.
  • If all else fails, angle the deflector shields.
  • Your insight serves you well.
  • If someone shouts "It's a trap," believe them.
  • When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not.
  • It really isn't necessary to be fluent in over six million forms of communication.
  • Grasping at your throat does not stop the choking.
  • And lastly always let the Wookie win, because if you don't he will rip your arms out of their sockets.
Now I know some of these do not apply to everyone but their interpretations and symbolic meanings do. For example Han Solo's quote about the Millennium Falcon and not judging what appears to be a piece of junk because "she's got it where it counts," is easily translated to "don't judge a book by its cover," and who hasn't heard that one before. All jokes aside Star Wars is a great source of guidance if relate it to your personal life you can.

Some of the list is inspired by my little brother and:
